Initially, the cot base can be raised to protect the parents back. It is then dropped down to base level to ensure that the mobile baby is safe. As baby turns into a toddler with greater freedom to move, the first Leander bed adaptation takes place: one of the cot sides come off. The child still has the familiar feeling of security of the high sides, it has known since birth but can now climb in and out by itself. As the child's development progresses, the other three sides come off (all together) and the cot is now a small bed. The child's growth in height will tell you when to extend the Leander Bed into the junior bed (150cm long). The extension pieces required are part of your initial purchase, so there is no more to buy.
